MTN Ghana Investigates Cybersecurity Incident Affecting Thousands of Customers

 

MTN Ghana, a leading telecommunications company in the country, has confirmed a cybersecurity incident that may have compromised the data of approximately 5,700 customers.


According to a statement released by the company, early investigations suggest that some customer data may have been accessed without authorization. While all platforms remain operational, MTN Ghana is working closely with cybersecurity experts to assess the impact of the breach.


The company discovered the incident and immediately launched an investigation to determine the extent of the breach. MTN Ghana has assured affected customers that they will be contacted directly.


Customer Safety Measures

In the meantime, MTN Ghana is urging customers to remain vigilant by taking the following precautions:

- Avoiding suspicious links

- Enabling multi-factor authentication


Investigation Underway


A forensic investigation is currently underway to determine the full extent of the breach. MTN Ghana has set up a toll-free customer care number (100) for customers to report any concerns or queries.
